Manukau teenagers still have time to enter the new youth photographic competition called All Eyes on Manukau.
Learning and Literacy Coordinator for Manukau Libraries Jody Gayton says, “The competition aimed at confronting the ‘South Auckland’ stereotype and celebrating the diversity of Manukau has attracted some wonderful photographs that showcase the best of what the city has to offer.
“Youth are encouraged to take photos of ‘their’ Manukau, giving them the chance to profile their daily lives, family, friends, neighbourhoods and things that matter to them”.
The top prize for the best photo is a digital camera and there will be a people’s choice award as well. Chosen semi-finalists will be displayed at various Manukau Libraries and the public will be asked to vote for their favourite.
The competition closes at 12pm on 30 January 2009. Competition details and entry forms can be found at www.manukau-libraries.govt.nz
