News: Shoot Canon via iPhone

iPhone remote

A new application to control your Canon dSLR has just been released for Apple’s increasingly-ubiquitous iPhone. onOne Software has designed a program which operate as a wireless cable release for the Canon EOS series.

DSLR Remote allows photographers to control shutter speed, aperture and white balance via an iPhone, while triggering the shutter. For those lucky creatures with LiveView capabilities, the program actually streams the image to the iPhone.

The program requires either an iPhone or an iPod touch, a supported Canon EOS camera, and a laptop running a free remote server software which connects to the camera via a USB cable.

DSLR Remote is available for an introductory price of $9.99 over Apple’s download site, iTunes, although a ‘lite’ version which merely fires the shutter will be available for $1.99.
