Backup drive provider Sandisk has launched a new range of USB flashdrives with up to 64GB in storage capacity. The SanDisk Ultra Backup USB portable flash drive also comes with built-in backup software which can be activated simply by pressing a button on the device.
It also features a dual layer of security, including password-protected access control and ultra-secure Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) hardware-based encryption.
Three product lines will be available in the new range, including the Sandisk Cruzer , with capacities of 4GB-32GB and priced between $25-139; SanDisk Ultra Backup offering 8GB-64GB from between $89 and $539; and the SanDisk Extreme Contour which features and industrial design, data transfer speeds at 25MB/second read and 18MB/second write and a lifetime limited warranty.
“Like flossing our teeth or balancing our chequebooks, when it comes to backing up our digital files, even though people know they should do it, they simply don’t – and that behaviour is putting many consumers’ precious digital content at serious risk,” said Kent Perry, director of USB product marketing, SanDisk.
