AUT (Auckland) runs several papers as part of broader degrees including Bachelor of Communication Studies, Graduate Diploma in Journalism, Bachelor of Design, and Graduate Diploma in Advertising Creativity. Massey University (Albany, Wellington and Manawatu) offers a Diploma in Photography, as well as photography papers as part of other degrees such as Bachelor of Design. University of Canterbury (Christchurch) offers numerous photography courses that are usually one year long. Click here to view the current courses

Otago (Dunedin), Victoria (Wellington) and Waikato (Hamilton) Universities do not have photography courses listed on their websites. Photographic components may be offered as part of broader degrees, though.

Polytechnic and institutes of technology courses
